Will Matthew Goode Be Joining Chan-wook Park’s Stoker?

We don’t know about you guys, but we’re getting a little tired of doing stories about people “in talks” for roles. Just let us know when they sign on the dotted line, how about it? Case in point – today’s story about British actor Matthew Goode circling a part in Chan-wook Park’s first English language film, Stoker.

According to Variety Goode, best known for playing Ozymandias in Watchmen, may land the male lead in Fox Searchlight’s Stoker, which was previously considered by Colin Firth and James Franco. He would join Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman, who are already lined up to star.

The script, penned by “Prison Break” star Wentworth Miller under the pseudonym Ted Foulke, follows a teenage girl (Wasikowska) who, while mourning the death of her father, must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle (Goode).

Tony and Ridley Scott are producing through their Scott Free banner along with Michael Costigan, and the project is considered a top priority for Fox given the rising profile of Park, who steered international hits Oldboy and Thirst.
