Cast Begins Filing into Almanac

So earlier today we got a tip that Jonny Weston was in negotiations to star in the found footage pic Almanac from Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes. We started inquiring before writing the story, and what happened? It ended up a couple of hours later on the front page of THR. Coincidence? Le sigh. All we can do is laugh.

THR also reports that along with Weston (pictured; Under the Bed, John Dies at the End, Chasing Mavericks), Sofia Black-D’Elia is in negotiations to star in the flick. Michael Bay will produce through his Platinum Dunes banner along with his partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, with Dean Israelite making his directorial debut. Plot details are under wraps other than the film would have a mockumentary angle centered around time travel. Andrew Stark and Jason Pagan penned the script. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec will exec produce.
