Ethan Hawke to Provide a Cameo in Total Recall

And the casting news keeps coming for the redux of Total Recall as Ethan Hawke (Daybreakers, Assault on Precinct 13) signs on for a cameo role in the film, which stars Colin Farrell.
According to THR’s Heat Vision Blog, Hawke’s part is being kept under wraps for now. The film begins shooting in Toronto in June, and along with Farrell and Hawke, Bokeem Woodbine and Bryan Cranston are set to co-star. Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel are still in negotiations for the female leads.
The new storyline ditches the original’s Mars setting and instead involves nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai with Douglas Quaid (Farrell) being a factory worker in the latter who begins to believe he is a spy, although he doesn’t know for which side. Woodbine will play Quaid’s best buddy who, in this version, has a big brother relationship with our protagonist.
Total Recall is being directed by Len Wiseman and produced by Neal Moritz and his Original Film banner. The remake will be landing in theatres on August 3rd, 2012.
