Want to Spend a Night in Disney's Haunted Mansion? How About a Weekend? When the DC crew heads out to Disney, there’s one thing on the agenda first and foremost – ride The Haunted Mansion again and again and again. We just can’t get enough. If all goes well, though, we’re also gonna have a pretty bitchin’ alternative!

According to Orlando Attractions, Disney is considering attraction themed rooms and resorts and has been sending out polls to recent travelers to see which they’d be interested in between: a Haunted Mansion Room, a Royal Room, and a Pirates of the Caribbean Room.

Here’s the description of the Haunted Mansion room:

“Come spend the night with a few of the happy haunts who play in an enchanted bedroom inspired by the Haunted Mansion. Rest atop the floating Doom Buggy beds with a couple of friendly spooks and watch glow-in-the-dark, cartoon-like footsteps mysteriously appear as the evening sets in. A sliding bookcase creates a hidden passage to the bathroom and is the perfect hiding place for a hitch-hiking ghost. Oversized furnishings with curvy lines and bright colors add to the whimsy in the room. Guests will delight in finding the hidden special effects that play up the merry, rather than scary, room ambiance.

Dear lord, what we’d do for this! Please, Disney! Make this spooky magic happen!

Massive Collection of Original Stephen King Manuscripts Tragically Lost in Flood

Published

on

The last couple of years have seen a massive resurgence in movies and TV adapting the works of noted author Stephen King. We got “The Mist”, “Mr. Mercedes”, “11.22.63”, “Castle Rock”, The Dark Tower, IT, Gerald’s Game, Cell, and more. The power of his words have clearly resonated across generations and are impacting viewers today just as much as they did readers upon release. For Bangor, ME resident Gerald Winters, King’s work is more than a passion, it was his life’s calling.

According to the Maine Public, Winters moved to the United States from Thailand over a year ago and established his own business, Gerald Winters & Son. A rare book store, it was Winters’ intention to collect and store as much of King’s original work as possible, including first editions, manuscripts, signed copies, artwork, and more. The collection numbered in the thousands, a treasure trove of all things King.

Tragically, some 2,000 pieces of his collection was irreparably damaged when a water main burst in front of his business, flooding his store’s basement with several feet of water, soaking everything. “You can’t replace this stuff,” he told the site. He estimates that only 10% of his store’s inventory was okay after the incident.

Many of us have our own personal collections of something, be it movies, books, comics, toys, instruments, records… Whatever it is that you hold dear, that is what Winters felt towards his collection, which included items he traveled the world to acquire. It’s beyond heartbreaking to hear of his story.

Check Out the Amazing Poster for Panos Cosmatos’ Mandy Starring Nicolas Cage

Published

Truth be told I have not heard one thing about the upcoming Nic Cage period action-thriller Mandy until today.

That’s not to say I’m not totally intrigued by the film, which is directed by Panos Cosmatos who helmed the gorgeous mind-trip Beyond the Black Rainbow a few years back. It has just slipped under my radar.

But all of that changed today with EW‘s reveal of the film’s poster which is about as badass of a poster as I have seen since the fantasy flicks of the 80’s.

You can check out the killer new poster for the film in higher-res to the right and then let us know what you think!

Mandy is directed by Panos Cosmatos (Beyond the Black Rainbow) and stars Nicolas Cage, Andrea Riseborough, and Linus Roache and is produced by Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller, Elijah Wood, Nate Bolotin, and Adrian Politowski.

Mandy premieres at the Sundance Film Festival January 19th.

Synopsis:

Set in 1893, Cage plays Red Miller, a broken and haunted man, who hunts the unhinged religious sect who slaughtered the love of his life.
