New Writer Found for Universal’s Supernatural Adventure Film Ouija

Since the powers-that-be are still using the description of “supernatural” in regard to the upcoming McG-directed Ouija, based on the popular board game, we’re going to keep covering it. The latest news is that Evan Spiliotopoulos is set to rewrite the supernatural action-adventure film for Universal Pictures and Platinum Dunes.

OuijaAccording to Variety Spiliotopoulos (Wanted 2) will be polishing the original screenplay penned by “Lost” writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. Spiliotopoulos is best known for writing several straight-to-DVD animated pics for Disney.

Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir of Hasbro are producing with Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. Universal’s EVP of Production Scott Bernstein and creative exec Kiska Higgs will oversee the project for the studio.

Ouija is slated to be in theatres on November 9, 2012.
