The Truth Coming Out Regarding World War Z WoesIt’s hard to recall the last time there was this much drama around a project (Scream 4 maybe?), but World War Z is the current reigning champ of production trouble, and the truth is just about ready to be told.

An upcoming article in Vanity Fair magazine will spell it all out for us soon enough, and we’re looking forward to hearing what could be the real story. Then again, it could just be more bullshit. Who knows anymore? Either way, here are some tasty tidbits from an online preview (link below) of the article.

“It was like, ‘Wow. The ending of our movie doesn’t work.’ I believed in that moment we needed to reshoot the movie. We were going to have long, significant discussions to fix this,” so says Paramount’s president of production Marc Evans upon seeing the first cut of the film.

Vanity Fair also speaks to director Marc Forster and Paramount executives Evans and Adam Goodman about the many problems that plagued the set—which included re-writing and reshooting 40 minutes of the film to find a coherent ending—and, most astonishingly, how the budget ballooned to around $200 million.

Keep your eyes open for the whole article, kids. This could be a good one!

In the film Brad Pitt plays a U.N. employee racing against time and fate as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly zombie pandemic, and his Plan B shingle is producing. Mireille Enos (“Big Love”, “The Killing”) plays his wife, a mother of two girls. Their co-stars include Eric West, Matthew Fox, David Morse, and James Badge Dale.

Look for World War Z in theatres on June 21st!

Hopefully some good will come out of all this drama. The film looks pretty good, not great, but then again trailers can be very deceiving. Wonder if we’ll get various cuts of the film when it hits Blu-Ray/DVD…
