Thanks to movies like Pacific Rim and of course Godzilla, it seems as if projects featuring giant monsters are on the upswing; and as far as we’re concerned, that’s a pretty awesome thing. Know who else thinks it’s awesome? Director J.J. Abrams.
In a recent interview with Playboy, Abrams had the following to say about the aforementioned flicks as well as a possible sequel to Cloverfield: “Part of me just wants to let [Cloverfield 2] go, though we’ve had a couple of discussions about cool ways to do it. I’m looking forward to seeing Pacific Rim this summer. It feels like there are some really big monsters coming down the pike that could inspire something we do.”
Yeah, it’s not a lot, but at least he’s thinking about it. The more giant monster movies, the merrier! Bring ’em on! And please forget that I said that so I’m allowed to bitch incessantly about there being too many, like I do with zombie/found footage flicks. Thanks.
