Paramount to Open Michael Bay’s Almanac with Platinum Dunes

I don’t know about you guys, but the thought of Platinum Dunes and Michael Bay working on a found footage movie sends many a chill down our spines and not necessarily in the good way. Read on for details.

Variety reports that Paramount has given the greenlight to the found footage pic Almanac, hoping for a Chronicle-like success.

Michael Bay will produce through his Platinum Dunes banner along with his partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, with Dean Israelite making his directorial debut. Plot details are under wraps other than the film would have a mockumentary angle centered around time travel. Andrew Stark and Jason Pagan penned the script. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec will exec produce.

Casting is already under way with the studio looking for unknowns to fill the roles.
