Breck Eisner Looking to Direct The Last Witch Hunter
Witches and witchcraft seem to be getting a lot of play lately in terms of upcoming projects. Makes sense, too, with studios like Summit Entertainment carving out quite the niche for themselves with the tweener market. After all who better for a young lass to look up to than a pretty young thing with super powers?
Something tells us things aren't going to be all emo and sparkling this time around though pertaining to the latest Summit project, The Last Witch Hunter. Originally the film had the ever-so-busy Timur Bekmambetov attached to direct, but according to Deadline since Bekmambetov is tied up with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, they're now looking for The Crazies director Breck Eisner to take the directorial helm.
Eisner is in early talks to direct the flick with Bekmambetov attached to produce. Summit acquired the pitch from the writer behind the upcoming Priest film, Cory Goodman. The tale centers upon a witch hunter who is seeing a surge in warlocks and witches and needs to keep the population "in check."
