When exotic dancer Duffy is murdered, her sister, a TV newscaster, goes undercover to find out what happened… trouble is, Duffy has come back from the dead, seeking her own revenge in this “Twin Peaks” inspired horror thriller from Fred Olen Ray.
That’s the premise behind After Midnight, the latest from b-movie maven Fred Olen Ray. Jeneta St. Clair is the ghostly murder victim, and Catherine Annette is the sister stripping down to find her sister’s murderer. But the marquee names are two former sex symbols of the 1980’s: Richard Grieco of “21 Jump Street” fame and Tawny Kitaen of Witchboard and slithering around on the hood of a car in Whitesnake music videos.
Retromedia Entertainment and Synthetic Filmwerx have released a slightly NSFW trailer for their erotically-charged supernatural thriller. That “Welcome to the Darkside” song, how many direct-to-video movies has it been used in? That’s a B-Sides waiting to happen.
