One More for 1408

Kate Walsh in 1408The casting for Mikael Hafstrom’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s 1408 continues to attract talent like ants to sugar. Mmmmmm… Sugar…

“Grey’s Anatomy” star Kate Walsh just signed on to the film according to Variety, jumping into the role of the wife of John Cusack’s character, a man who makes a living debunking supposed haunted places. He gets way more than he bargained for when he checks into the titular room at the Dolphin Hotel.

Obviously the short story, which originally appeared in King’s latest collection Everything’s Eventual, has been expanded to make sure it’s got an hour and a half (give or take) worth of story to tell.

One of the men responsible for this expansion was writer Matt Greenberg, whom fans may know as the scripter for William Malone’s Masters of Horror episode, “The Fair Haired Child” (one my my favorites of the series).

1408, which also starts Samuel L. Jackson, rolls in the UK this summer.
