First Behind-the-Scenes Photo from the Set of Under the Dome

Now that production has officially begun on CBS’ adaptation of Stephen King’s “Under the Dome,” the first behind-the-scenes image from the set has arrived. Take a look at Big Jim Rennie’s car dealership thanks to Lilja’s Library.

Big Jim, the successful owner of a used car dealership who also serves as a town council member, is played by Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”).

Production began Thursday, February 28th, in Wilmington, N.C., on “Under the Dome,” a new CBS drama series based on Stephen King’s novel. Niels Arden Oplev is helming the first episode of the show. Oplev directed the original Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

“Under the Dome” stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy, and Aisha Hinds. The 13-episode summer series will premiere June 24th on CBS.

Synopsis:
“UNDER THE DOME” is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.

“UNDER THE DOME” is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, serve as executive producers. Acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) directed the first episode.
