Grab a Friend and Get Bloody in Latest F.E.A.R. 3 Video

For our money there’s nothing better than hooking up with your friends for some good old fashioned horror based co-op combat. That is of course unless the person you’re playing with is The Foywonder in which case you’ll only be burned alive. In any event we’ve got a new look at the divergent co-op mechanics of the upcoming spooker, F.E.A.R. 3.

This video from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment gives players a deeper look into what makes F.E.A.R. 3’s co-op match up of Point Man and Paxton Fettel unique. Through the game’s asymmetrical gameplay in co-op, players will be able to wield vastly different abilities from their co-op partner. Through Point Man and Fettel’s individual abilities, players can choose to work together or against their co-op buddy, creating an uneasy alliance that can vary greatly depending on who you play with.

Set to release soon on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows PC, F.E.A.R. 3 is a heart-pounding paranormal horror first person shooter unleashing intense combat, compelling narrative and co-op play that evolves the franchise. Alma returns in F.E.A.R. 3 but this time her sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel are characters available to play in divergent co-op, giving players distinctly different abilities affecting their own play as well as the experience of their co-op partner. Gamers participate in single player or co-op modes as Point Man, and they can play cooperatively as his conniving brother Paxton Fettel whose incredible telekinetic power has given him life beyond the grave. The game is developed by Day 1 Studios, developer of the original F.E.A.R. console games in collaboration with Monolith Studios.

To further ensure extreme terror in F.E.A.R. 3, legendary horror mastermind John Carpenter (Halloween) and critically acclaimed horror comic and script writer Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) provided consultation.
