It seems as if David Duchovny just refuses to put down the proverbial torch in terms of The X-Files film franchise. If only the filmmakers would put that much energy into actually making a good movie.

We always want to,” he told Jay Leno in an interview on Wednesday’s “The Tonight Show.” “[Creator] Chris Carter and [co-star] Gillian Anderson and I, we’re always on board.

You want to write Fox and get ’em going…,” he told the audience, adding: “You could wheel me [out]. I’ll play Fox Mulder forever.

The sci-fi series aired on Fox for nine seasons, from 1993-2002, spawning two movies. 1998’s The X-Files: Fight the Future grossed about $189 million at the worldwide box office, but the 2008 sequel, subtitled I Want to Believe, earned only $68 million, according to Box Office Mojo. Still, the show continues to have a huge cult following.

I love the characters so much I’d watch every X-File movie they ever make. I just want them to get the hell away from the endless alien conspiracy themes. My favorite episodes were always the monster-of-the-week and supernatural types.

Where was this sentiment when we needed him to have it during…hmmm…seasons 8&9 of the show?! Fucktard.
    Love him.

I would welcome one more movie if Carter would get over his conceit and just wrap the damn thing up.

    I don’t think so Dave.
