James Cameron on At the Mountains of Madness

Mountains of MadnessWords alone cannot describe how excited we are for Guillermo del Toro's big screen adaptation of the Lovecraftian tale At the Mountains of Madness. With del Toro scheduled to begin production in June, producer James Cameron offered a quick update as to exactly how far along they are.

As per FEARnet:

"We're very, very actively pre-producing the film right now with Universal. The design work is phenomenal, both the three-dimensional and two-dimensional design work, the physical maquettes, the CG test scenes; the artwork is phenomenal. The fans certainly won't want for a visual feast with this film. But there's [still] a bunch of number-crunching and "How you gonna do it?" and "How you gonna make it?"; "Where you gonna do it?" All that stuff."

Keep it locked right here for more as it comes.

With Del Toro's track record of 1000 projects per year that fizzle out, I'm waiting on this one to start actual filming before I get tooooo giddy. That being said, please get this f*cker filming. We need something fresh that doesn't involve a 70's or 80's remake.
