Another lead role has been filled for the CBS adaptation of Stephen King’s “Under the Dome” as former Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre signs on to the miniseries, which will premiere in June.
Per THR, Lefevre will play Julia, an investigative reporter who just moved from Chicago to Chester’s Mill with her husband, a doctor at the town’s medical center. She’s the editor of the town’s local paper and is intrigued after learning of multiple deliveries of propane gas to a nearby warehouse. She’s baffled by the appearance of the strange dome but more concerned with the whereabouts of her mysteriously missing husband.
She joins the previously announced Mike Vogel (Cloverfield, Open Graves, “Bates Motel”), Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”), Jolene Purdy (“Glee”, Donnie Darko), Nicholas Strong, Britt Robertson (“The Secret Circle”), Aisha Hinds (“True Blood”), Natalie Martinez (“CSI: NY,” Death Race 2008), Colin Ford (“Supernatural”), and Alex Koch.
The 13-episode summer series will premiere June 24th on CBS. Visit underthedome.com to sign up for more info.
“UNDER THE DOME” is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.
“UNDER THE DOME” is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, serve as executive producers. Acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) directed the first episode.
