Yeah, remember back in April of 2012 when we reported that current WWE champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was going to be the lead character in Warner Brothers’ big screen adaptation of Lobo? No? Well that’s okay. WB doesn’t remember that either.

While doing press for his upcoming flick Snitch, The Rock had this to say about the project… [It was hot] “for a minute… it just kind of went away as things happen in Hollywood… I was interested in it, then it went away.”

Lobo is an alien that works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter. Introduced as a hardened, rarely used hard-boiled villain in the 1980s, the character remained in limbo until his revival as an anti-hero biker in the early 1990s, when he became one of the most popular and bloodier characters in the DC Comics stable.

The logline of the film was “Lobo, a powerful alien bounty hunter, lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc.”.

Oh well. At least we still have the Lobo ParaMilitary Christmas Special. Right?
