It’s the holidays. Time for family, gift giving and stories of Zombie Santa. Wait, what? REELZCHANNEL—TV About Movies® today announced the “Richard Christy’s Holiday Horror Fest” special, hosted by actor, comedian, and heavy metal drummer Richard Christy. New and classic scary movies, a zombie Santa, and a visit to a real-life ghost town and site where horror-movie legend John Carpenter filmed Vampires are all part of this terrifyingly terrific holiday special. The episode premieres Saturday, December 11th, at 11pm ET/8pm PT.
“As a life long horror fanatic, hosting this show is a dream come true for me! REELZCHANNEL is a big supporter of horror; I’ve watched their Hollywood’s Best Film Directors – John Carpenter Special about 20 times, and I’m so excited to be working with them!” said Christy. “This show was created by horror fans for horror fans, and I’m extremely proud to be hosting Richard Christy’s Holiday Horror Fest, your television destination for all things horror and sci-fi!”
Richard Christy is a comedian/actor/musician and well-known horror movie expert. He contributes a monthly article to Decibel Magazine titled “Richard Christy’s Horrorscope,” where he writes about both horror movies and metal music. Richard is also a heavy metal drummer and has toured with various bands around the world. With his passion and expertise, he’ll share his take on the latest horror movies, honor horror classics, and pay homage to the genre’s rich history. With a combination of studio-based segments, field-produced packages, and host-driven commentary, Richard Christy’s Horror Fest will appeal to not only a new generation of horror fans but also span the ages of all thrill seekers.
Along with including a segment on New York based FX artist Brian Spears (I Sell the Dead, Stake Land, The Innkeepers) and his team at Gerner & Spears FX turning Christy into zombie Santa, “Richard Christy’s Holiday Horror Fest” will also include a clip from Jim Mickle’s Stake Land, which stars Danielle Harris and Kelly McGillis.
