The hit Blizzard Entertainment video game behemoth known as World of Warcraft is coming to the big screen with an incredibly good director at its helm. Here’s to the cinematic rise of The Horde! Read on for details.
Variety is reporting that Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) has closed a deal with Legendary Pictures to bring a live action version of WoW to the big screen. Charles Leavitt (The Seventh Son) came on board last August to pen the script. Legendary said it’s planning to start lensing in the fall for a summer 2015 release.
Sam Raimi announced last summer that he was no longer involved with Warcraft at San Diego Comic-Con due to his commitments to Disney’s Oz: The Great and Powerful. Legendary picked up film rights to adapt the popular fantasy video game franchise in 2006.
