Zac Efron. Never in our existence did we think we’d be doing a story about something involving him. But, hey, stranger things have happened, and now that the tweener heartthrob is all grown up, he’s looking to expand his horizons.
According to THR, Efron and Akiva Goldsman are teaming up for a mystery supernatural project at Warner Bros. titled The Falling. Efron will star in the film and produce via his Warners-based Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Productions and Goldsman’s Weed Road banner. Also on board to produce are husband-and-wife team Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold of Safehouse Pictures.
The idea originated within the studio, which then presented it Goldsman and Efron. Goldsman and Harold, the screenwriter who worked on Warners’ upcoming Tom Cruise sci-fi movie All You Need Is Kill, then hammered out a story. Plot details are under wraps, but we can tell you that the flick is being described as an edgy thriller centering around an otherworldly being.
