UK: Long Live the Mindflesh!
It’s always great when those inside the filmmaking biz get in touch to turn us on to some of the more interesting upcoming releases so we were delighted when prolific producer Jonathan Sothcott (Dead Cert, The Asphyx remake) gave us a heads-up regarding the UK DVD release of Robert Pratten’s indie body-horror Mindflesh.
Sothcott had this to say:
"Robert Pratten's Mindflesh is a film I dearly wish I'd produced - its an exceptionally original, striking movie in the Cronenberg style - gore, girls and endless psychological tricks. I was amazed it hadn't found a home on UK DVD and so introduced Robert to my friends at 4DigitalMedia, who released my first film Wishbaby. They now have it scheduled for an extras-packed DVD release later in the year when hopefully it can find the wide audience it richly deserves."
Adding, "Robert is an exceptionally intelligent, provocative filmmaker and I really want to work with him. We're actively looking for a project at the minute. He cast Mindflesh really well, and I think fans are going to love Carole Derrien as The Goddess."
Looking like the mutant child of David Cronenberg and Clive Barker, Mindflesh certainly has me interested – especially after seeing the stills which Jonathan also kindly provided!
