According to TVLine, Gina Torres (pictured; “The Vampire Diaries”) is joining NBC’s contemporary Hannibal Lecter series as the wife of Laurence Fishburne’s G-Man Jack Crawford.
Mads Mikkelsen will play the psychiatrist-turned-serial killer “Hannibal” in the 13-episode dramatic take from “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller. Caroline Dhavernas (another Fuller alum from “Wonderfalls”) also stars as Dr. Alana “Al” Bloom, a psychiatric protege of Hannibal Lecter who teaches psychology at Georgetown University and is consulting with the FBI on criminal profiling when she introduces her mentor to Laurence Fishburne’s Jack Crawford. Lara Jean Chorostecki plays Freddie Lounds, a sleazy tabloid reporter, and Hugh Dancy plays everyone’s favorite criminal profiler, Will Graham.
Scott Thompson (“The Kids in the Hall”), Hettienne Park (Young Adult), Chelan Simmons (“Wonderfalls”), Ellen Greene (“Heroes,” Little Shop of Horrors), Molly Shannon (“Saturday Night Live”) and Aaron Abrams (“L.A. Complex”) also star.
