According to TV Guide Ian McShane has landed a role on the second season of the anthology series. Details on his role were unavailable, but Ryan Murphy noted on Twitter that the Golden Globe winner will “tussle” with Jessica Lange’s Sister Jude, one of the nuns who runs the insane asylum at Briarcliff Manor (aka this season’s Murder House, of sorts).
Episode 2.01 – “Welcome to Briarcliff” (airs October 17th, 10:00 pm e/p)
Welcome to Briarcliff Manor, a notorious insane asylum which is home to the deranged serial killer Bloody Face. Lurking in the shadows of this “sanctuary of healing” are terrifying evils that blur the boundaries between reality and insanity. Written by Tim Minear; directed by Bradley Buecker.
The returning cast members for “American Horror Story” Chapter 2, known as “Asylum,” include Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, and Frances Conroy, who are joined by newcomers Adam Levine, Jenna Dewan, Clea DuVall, James Cromwell, Franka Potente, Mark Consuelos, Lizzie Brochere, Joseph Fiennes, Chloë Sevigny, Mark Margolis, Amy Farrington, and David Chisum.
