The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Soundtrack Revealed; Includes Series Star Nikki Reed

Since it began back in 2008, a key component of The Twilight Saga has been its soundtracks, and things are no different for Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Read on for the track listing, which includes Green Day and series star Nikki Reed.

Per MTV, iconic punk rockers Green Day will have a song on the album, along with Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding (whose track is produced by real-life love Skrillex), Nikki Reed with her real-life husband “American Idol” alum Paul McDonald, and such Twilight soundtrack veterans as St. Vincent (she contributed to the New Moon album) and Christina Perri (who previously appeared on the Breaking Dawn – Part 1 soundtrack).

Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt shared with Yahoo! Movies why the group wanted to get involved with the franchise as it bids a final farewell. “When we were asked to be part of the ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ soundtrack, we readily agreed because the films are an insane cultural phenomenon, and we have always been impressed with the way the ‘Twilight’ soundtracks are so carefully curated,” he said.

Synopsis:
The next and final chapter in The Twilight Saga, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2, illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions. It will arrive in theatres on November 16th, 2012. Academy Award® winner Bill Condon directed both the first and second parts of the two-part finale starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, was written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt, and Stephenie Meyer producing.
