Battlestar Galactica's Michael Hogan Suits Up For Red Riding HoodSome more casting news coming in for Catherine Hardwicke’s Red Riding Hood (formerly The Girl with the Red Riding Hood) that fans of “Battlestar Galactica” will likely eat up with their bigger than usual teeth.

According to The Wrap Michael Hogan (pictured right) has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ new telling of the classic tale to play a mysterious character named The Reeve. Hogan joins the previously announced Amanda Seyfried, Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons, Julie Christie, and Gary Oldman.

Red Riding Hood, written by David Johnson (Orphan), is a retelling of the old Red Riding Hood bedtime story that we can only hope comes sans any sparkling entities and/or underwearwolves. Oh, who are we kidding? We know that they will be there. Either way, we’ll be watching and hoping for the best.

The original fairy tales by The Brothers Grimm were deliciously dark so keep your fingers crossed that at least some of that content makes it in.

Look for Red Riding Hood in theatres April 22nd, 2011.
