From the Press Release:
Macabre Mansion® Presents The Legend of Sleepy Hollow – an original audio drama adaptation of the classic story by Washington Irving. Starring country music star Mandy Barnett, Kyle Hebert (Dragonball Z, Naruto, Bleach, Gurren Lagann), Virginia Hey (Farscape, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, The Living Daylights), Tiffany LaBarbera (Macabre Mansion Presents… A Christmas Carol), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Naruto, Bleach, Resident Evil: Degeneration), Jim O’Rear (ABC’s “Nashville”, Stephen King’s The Boogeyman, The Dead Matter), and Daniel Roebuck (ABC’s “Lost”, Rob Zombie’s Halloween and Halloween II), this audio adaptation stays true to Irving’s original vision with only minor changes in dialogue.
In the Dutch settlement of Tarry Town in the secluded glen called Sleepy Hollow, we hear the tale of Ichabod Crane – a lean, lanky, and extremely superstitious schoolmaster from Connecticut, who competes with Abraham “Brom Bones” Van Brunt for the affections of Katrina Van Tassel, the daughter of a wealthy farmer, Baltus Van Tassel. As Crane leaves a dance he attended at the Van Tassel home one autumn night, he is pursued by the Headless Horseman, the ghost of a Hessian trooper whose head was shot off by a stray cannonball during “some nameless battle” of the American Revolutionary War and who “rides forth to the scene of battle in nightly quest of his head.”
The script adaptation is by Jim O’Rear; directed and produced by Kevin Herren; recorded in part at In Fidelity Recordings, Los Angeles California. A portion of the proceeds from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow are being donated to THURSDAY’S CHILD, the national helpline for endangered youth.
