It’s been a while, but some new casting news has come in for the adaptation of the Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, All You Need Is Kill. Read on for the latest details. No, really… read on, damn it! We don’t write this stuff for nothing, ya know!
According to Variety, Bill Paxton is in negotiations to star in the Warner Bros. sci-fi action flick All You Need Is Kill, joining Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.
Doug Liman is directing the graphic novel-based pic about a soldier (Cruise) in a war against aliens who relives his last day over and over after being killed. Through the training and battles he experiences in these time loops, he becomes a better soldier. Paxton will play the tough leader of Cruise’s platoon.
Erwin Stoff, Tom Lassally and Jason Hoffs are producing All You Need Is Kill through 3 Arts Entertainment. Dante Harper penned the script with Joby Harold, who’s doing a rewrite and serving as exec producer. Production is set to begin later this fall in London.
