Hot on the heels of the first image of Chloe Moretz as Vampire Abby comes a new still featuring her and her playmate Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

The image comes courtesy of the LA Times, which recently caught up with director Matt Reeves, who had this to offer about the project:

We tried to create the approaching, foreboding dread of movies like ‘The Shining,’ where you feel like something wicked is unraveling and it’s not going to end well,” said Reeves. “That’s what I responded to about the original, the juxtaposition of those tones, this very disturbing story, but at the center of it there are these very tender emotions. That’s a very unusual mix, and that’s what drew me in and dug into me.

In case you are living under a rock and do not know the premise of the story … Let Me In is based upon the book by author John Ajvide Lindqvist and follows an alienated 12-year-old boy who befriends a mysterious young newcomer in his small New Mexico town and discovers an unconventional path to adulthood.
