The seventh incarnation is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 film that follows the lead character, Heather, who, along with her friends, travels to Texas in order to collect an inheritance, that inheritance being Leatherface! The film will be rated R for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.

Synopsis
Texas Chainsaw 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars…

  1. 100% Generic. They should have cast Paris Hilton as the lead because that’s exactly how much anticipation I have for this as I did with the House of Wax trailer.

I don’t know why I expected more but I kind of did…stupid me.

  2. that was a little disappointing :( felt like every studio Slasher movie of the past 10 years all jammed into one with a very clean glossy look to it that I Feel doesnt work . . . ill still see this though

  3. Looks dumb as hell. Did the family decide to tidy the fuck up and get a pool table? This looks present day. Way too clean as well. And that coffin bit is stupid as hell. Is Leatherface wearing pajamas? This looks beyond awful. Leatherface has lost some weight as well. Where’s the rest of the family at? Ugh.

  4. Wow, my excitement took a nose dive from around a 7 all the way to 1 after watching this trailer. I’m really not sure what Lionsgate is going for with this now. It plays more like a reboot than a sequel, as Leatherface seems to have morphed more into the part 3/remake style slasher than the dim witted guy in the original. Also as everyone else has said the cinematography looks exactly like the Platinum Dunes turds. Without the Sawyer family to spice up the cast this is shaping up to be Halloween with a chainsaw? I hope I’m wrong, but this trailer looks like a cookie cutter version of every slasher movie over the past decade. At least the poster was sweet looking…

  5. Hell freakin yes!!!! Looks very cool. I like how they didnt really show Leatherface, from what We can see He looks as crazy as ever. Man I cant wait.

  6. Ugh, I wish filmmakers would retire the glossy Platinum Dunes cinematography. I was hoping they’d go for a more raw, snuff film feel. Much like the original. I’ll still check it out though.

  7. I like it.

Might look a little too much like the remakes, but there’s enough in there to keep me interested.

Especially the bit with the coffin at the end.
