Danielle Harris’ Directorial Debut, Among Friends, Coming to Sitges and Lund Festivals

Things are starting to pick up for genre favorite Danielle Harris’ directorial debut, Among Friends. We’ve just received word that the film will screen at both the Sitges Film Festival and Lund International Fantastic Film Festival.

Scream Queen Danielle Harris’ long awaited debut feature Among Friends will run in the upcoming Sitges Film Festival and Lund International Fantastic Film Festival. Sitges runs October 4-14 in Catalonia, Spain, while LIFFF runs September 20-29 in the Swedish city of Lund, Scania.

Penned by Alyssa Lobit (The Things We Carry), Among Friends is a horror (and comedy, depending on how twisted you are) about a dinner party gone wrong. Set against an 80s backdrop, good times take a dark turn when one in the group hijacks the evening in the name of integrity. Through an attempt to help the others come clean about secret betrayals against one another, it’s revealed who’s willing to cut through the bone to expose the truth. The film stars Christopher Backus, Jennifer Blanc, AJ Bowen, Dana Daurey, Brianne Davis, Kane Hodder, Kamala Jones, Alyssa Lobit and Chris Meyer.

British sales agency Aspect Film acquired worldwide sales rights to the pic for their genre division Chiller Films. Chiller has already closed distribution for German-speaking Europe with Tiberius Film and will shortly announce a deal for North American rights. The film is presented by Three Little Birds Productions in association with Hollywood Treasures, Inc., and produced by Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (The Victim) and Athena Lobit.

Danielle Harris, Alyssa Lobit and Jennifer Blanc-Biehn will all be in attendance at Sitges for the Midnight Xtreme premiere of Among Friends..
