We’re not familiar with RIDES.tv, but they seem to appreciate horror so we thought we’d pass on the news that Fourth Wall Studios’ new Dark Wall anthology is airing there, beginning with Installment #1, “Whispers.”

Synopsis:
Dark Wall is a new online anthology of horror shorts. Combined, the episodes cover all the sub-genres of horror, from psychological thrillers to tales of the paranormal to slasher stories. A unique and distinct Dark Wall wrapper will identify each episode with an eccentric and unnerving host. Mr. Dark Wall, played by James Urbaniak (Unforgettable, “The Office,” “Weeds”), is a disfigured paraplegic and recluse, always delighted to show another tale of madness, misery, or flat-out terror that will leave audiences scared out of their minds.

Dark Wall brings morbid curiosity to life in a way that has never before been possible prior to the RIDES platform. By delivering the scares through text, email, and even blood-curdling phone calls, the RIDES features add a whole new meaning to the phrase “fear factor.”

Written by award-winning science fiction author Maureen McHugh, “Whispers”, the first installment in the Dark Wall anthology, centers on a father and his mentally-ill son living in an isolated farmhouse in the winter. When the father suffers a terrible accident, the son is left to cope on his own, with only the voices in his head to help him survive – but these whispers don’t seem to be his friend. “Whispers” is a story of psychological horror in which the life of a man and his young son depend on the unexplained voices surrounding them.

RIDES features:
— Hear the “Whispers” on your phone
— Receive texts tracking the boy’s descent into madness
— Explore hidden scenes that reveal new insights into the eerie drama

“We’re so excited to add the Dark Wall anthology series to our RIDES.tv portfolio,” said Jim Stewartson, chief executive office and founder at Fourth Wall Studios. “The RIDES platform presents a unique way to expand the horror genre by providing creators with new tools to surprise, shock, and terrify audiences through multiple devices. Dark Wall exemplifies our commitment to developing genre-specific channels for our platform and we look forward to unveiling more in the weeks to come.”

“Whispers” is directed by filmmaker George Ratliff (Joshua, Hell House, Salvation Blvd.) Damel Gianni Decenzo and Ben Joseph Kell star. Executive producers are Zach Schiff-Abrams, Jim Stewartson, Elan Lee, and Sean Stewart. Ella Gray serves as producer and Behnam Karbassi as supervising producer.

Season 8 Synopsis:
Last season Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group of survivors were confronted with their deadliest challenge yet. With the comfort of Alexandria, they let their guard down, only to be reminded how brutal the world they live in can be.

Feeling powerless under Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) rules and demands, Rick advocated the group play along. But seeing that Negan couldn’t be reasoned with, Rick began rallying together other communities affected by the Saviors. And with the support of the Hilltop and Kingdom, they finally have enough fire power to contest the Saviors.

This season Rick brings “All Out War” to Negan and his forces. The Saviors are larger, better-equipped, and ruthless — but Rick and the unified communities are fighting for the promise of a brighter future. The battle lines are drawn as they launch into a kinetic, action-packed offensive.

Up until now, survival has been the focus of Rick and our group, but it’s not enough. They have to fight to take back their freedom so that they can live. So that they can rebuild. As with any battle, there will be losses. Casualties. But with Rick leading the Alexandrian forces, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) leading the Hilltop, and King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) leading the Kingdom — Negan and the Saviors’ grip on this world may finally be coming to an end.
