Most actors would run the opposite way at the thought of encountering Stage Fright, but Minnie Drive is diving headfirst into the horror-musical project helmed by Jerome Sable (The Legend of Beaver Dam), and we don’t blame her one bit!
Per The Wrap, the British actress joins “Meat Loaf” Aday, Allie MacDonald, and Douglas Smith in the production. Sable, who composed the music and co-wrote the lyrics with Eli Batalion, will direct from his own script. Serendipity Point Films is producing, and shooting begins September 6th in Canada.
Stage Fright tells the story of a posh musical theater camp terrorized by a killer who hates musicals. Driver plays Kylie Swanson, a haunted star of the Broadway stage and mother of two siblings who find themselves at the center of the unfolding horror at the camp. Meat Loaf plays Roger McCall, a slumming Broadway producer-turned-camp director.
“It’s a real thrill to have Minnie and Meat Loaf join our talented cast of singers and actors as we bring this horror-musical to life,” Sable said. “I couldn’t be more excited.”
