Some quick casting news is coming in for the big screen adaptation of Mortal Instruments. According to THR one of Germany’s hottest young actors, Elyas M’Barek (“Turkish for Beginners”, Offroad), has been cast as a vampire in the flick.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is an adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s young adult fantasy novel from Constantin Film and Unique Pictures.
Kevin Durand, Robert Maillet, Lily Collins, Robert Sheehan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Jemima West, Kevin Zegers, Lena Headey, Jared Harris, Godfrey Gao, and Jamie Campbell Bower star in the film helmed by Harald Zwart. Jessica Postigo and I. Marlene King wrote the script.
Clary (Collins), a seemingly ordinary teenager, discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother, Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves, and other deadly creatures.
