Exclusive: New Production Stills and Release Date for Gierasch’s Night of the Demons

Dread caught up with director Adam Gierasch yesterday in an effort to ascertain the current plans for his feature Night of the Demons, a flick that initially was to have received a theatrical release last October via Seven Arts Distribution. Revealed the director, who co-wrote with Jace Anderson his remake of director Kevin Tenney’s 1988 feature of the same name, “Night of the Demons is aiming for a decently-wide release on September 23, 2010.” In addition, he provided us with some new exclusive production stills!

Gierasch was coy about mentioning the distributor of his redux, which stars Diora Baird, Shannon Elizabeth, Monica Keena, Bobbi Sue Luther, Jonathan Beach, Michael Copon, Tiffany Shepis, and Edward Furlong, although he was transparent in regard to his additional (and rather exciting) plans for the release of Night of the Demons.

Hopefully we’ll be able to do some concerts to celebrate the release,” said Geirasch, whose directorial debut was the 2008 film Autopsy. “We are definitely going to do (one) in L.A., and maybe New York, and I can’t guarantee it, but I hope New Orleans because that is where the movie takes place and where we shot it.

Appearing on the soundtrack are “45 Grave, who did our theme song,” revealed the filmmaker, “and Type O Negative, TSOL, Pscyhocharger, Goatwhore, Wednesday 13, and Dead By Day. The soundtrack is awesome, and it’s all the way through the whole movie, too. We did fight scenes to punk-rock songs, demon attacks to punk-rock songs – I describe it as ‘party horror’.

As for his feelings on the completed film, “I love it. It’s got punk-rock and big-breasted chicks being chased by demons – what more do you want? It’s everything that makes life worth living. I think it’s just super fun.

Dread queried the filmmaker as to what’s next on his plate, and while we are sworn to secrecy until a later date regarding a slew of simmering genre projects he and Anderson are cooking up, the filmmaker did allow that he’s finishing up a film he directed from a genre script the pair co-wrote.

I will say,” teased Gierasch, who didn’t reveal the title (although a quick Google search may or may not provide such), “that it’s a psychological drama slash ghost story and also that I believe it will have a limited release in August or September.

Can someone call me when they have pictures of the guys (who aren't Edward Furlong?)

I had to look up who Edward Furlong was 'cause I didn't know. The American History X kid, got it.

So you aren't type of guy who likes people like Bobby Sue Luther or Diora Baird?

Spaceshark is a guy he just isn't into girls or Edward Furlong apparently.

Love the second still with the hands coming out of darkness. Really classic horror visual. So it's raising my hopes that this might have some style even if the other stills look drab and generic.

The original and it's sequel were damn good. Again, I don't see why it needs a remake... but since the ideas are fairly generic I assume it's just the name familiarity they are after.

There were two sequels actually. Night of the Demons 3 we just keep trying to forget.

Doesn't she always? If she wasn't such a cool, funny chick, I'd have to hate her.

I still can't believe people are jizzing over Megan Fox when people like Diora are walking around in their ever loving hotness.

TBH Bobbi-Sue gets my vote. HUBBA HUBBA.

That's kind of a non-argument because I'd love to be the cheese in a Bobbi Sue and Diora sandwich.

I wouldn't exactly say I'd introduce "cheese" to that mix, but I feel ya dude....oohhhh yeah....

Submitted by Gareth Jones on Thu, 03/11/2010 - 10:27pm.

I'd introduce whip cream, chocolate, and edible body cream, but yeah, not cheese.

Maybe for you, buster. Even before my member went numb and dry I'd still think of nasty things to do to them. Granted my heart doesn't fail in the heat of passion, hehe.

Hell, give me a bottle of bourbon and I'll give them a 10 hour stretch they'll never forget! May be getting a little unprofessional here... :op

There's no such thing as professional in sex. Unless you're in porn, but that's a whole other topic.

Another vote for Bobby Sue here. A nude scene from here is worth a point or two in the movie's rating.

P.S. To stay with the theme: I'd fuck her. Too blunt?

Submitted by Vanvance1 on Fri, 03/12/2010 - 1:04am.
Terminal's picture

Uh no, I thought that was what the whole debate alluded toward. I don't think a person here would refuse to fuck either of these women.

Submitted by Terminal on Fri, 03/12/2010 - 1:18am.
Vanvance1's picture

Now it's a dare! Okay, bring me them both and I will have sex with them.

P.S. They can show up at my door in the same costumes they are using for the movie.

P.P.S. Have one of them holding a pizza.

Submitted by Vanvance1 on Fri, 03/12/2010 - 4:14am.
Terminal's picture

Okay but how do you maneuver it? You can't fuck both at the same time. Me, I'd go for Diora then Bobbie Sue. Either one is a doorway to heavenly bliss.

P.S. I wonder if they'll include the lipstick scene for this remake.
