Scoring For Blood

Since most of you aren’t filmmakers (well, these days who really knows…), I will let you in on a bit of the magic of moviemaking: The score is usually the last thing done on any film, big or small. It only makes sense to get the music to work with the final cut of the film, and usually it’s the final tweak that can make a movie go from “okay” to “wow!”
Hopefully such is the case with Brotherhood of Blood, which just brought on long-time Scorpions bass player Ralph Rieckermann (pictured) to orchestrate the music for the Ken Foree/Sid Haig vampire flick. Though it may seem strange to have the bass player for a famous metal band score your film, this sure isn’t Ralph’s first gig. Most recently he did the music for a new Lionsgate horror/comedy called Drive-Thru, and he also can proudly say he worked on David DeFalco’s “tribute” to Last House on the Left, Chaos. Well, who knows how proud he is of that one…
“[Directors] Michael [Roesch] and Peter [Scheere] screened a rough cut of the movie for me, and I instantly knew that this was the movie I was looking for,” Rieckermann said in a press release. “They found a very interesting new approach to the hunters vs. vampires story.”
