If you happen to live in the Chicago-area and call yourself a horror fan, it’s probably best to just go ahead and clear your plans for next weekend as what we’re about to tell you has to be infinitely cooler than anything you already have going on.
The Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18 (River Road & I-294) just announced their plans to launch a series of restored classics and due to popular demand, they are kicking off the series with the newly digitally restored version of Steven Spielberg’s classic Jaws which will be presented in stunning 4K digital projection and DTS-HD Master 7.1 sound.
The Jaws restoration will receive a three-day engagement at the Muvico from July 13-15, 2012; the first screening will be held on the 13th at 8 pm with an introduction by Dann Gire (Chicago Film Critics Association). Jaws will then run at 4 pm and 8 pm on Saturday the 14th with its final screening at 4 pm on Sunday, July 15th.
Jaws is only the first of many great classics coming to the big screen at Muvico; future restored classics screenings include the Universal Monster series- Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf-Man and The Creature from the Black Lagoon as well as flicks like Alien, Taxi Driver and Dr. Strangelove.
