Jamie Lee Curtis to Make Her First (and Last) Horror Con Appearance at the November HorrorHound WeekendFans of the great Jamie Lee Curtis might want to start thinking about taking a trip to Indianapolis this November as she will be making her first – and last – horror convention appearance during that city’s HorrorHound Weekend, which is taking place November 16-18.

From the HorrorHound Magazine Forums:
The rumors are true. Jamie Lee Curtis has agreed to attend her first-ever horror convention… And it will also be her last!

Jamie Lee Curtis has signed on as the guest of honor at this November’s HorrorHound Weekend event. The event will take place over the weekend of November 16-18, 2012, at the Indianapolis Marriott East, 7202 East 21st Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219.

Ms. Curtis will be appearing at the event on both Saturday (November 17) and Sunday (November 18) for autograph sessions, photo-ops, and an on-stage Q/A panel which is sure to be epic. This is a landmark opportunity for fans, as Jamie has never attended an event like this nor provided horror fans with the opportunity to have their memorabilia signed in such a capacity. And it’s all for charity, via the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. ALL monies earned from Jamie’s autograph sessions, photo-ops, and stage event will go directly to the Children’s Hospital. In fact, part of the proceeds from HorrorHound Weekend’s ticket sales will also be donated to this amazing charity as we will also be taking donations at the event for anyone wishing to help this cause further. More details about the charity and other ways you can help will be listed on this event’s website when it is launched next month.

In conjunction with Jamie Lee Curtis’ jump into the world of horror conventions, Jamie wanted to make sure that it was expressed that this will be a one-time only appearance. Once this event is over, she will be retiring from the horror convention scene, making this appearance all the more important for all those fans who have been patiently waiting for this moment and opportunity to meet one of the most iconic actors in horror history. This is IT!

Jamie Lee Curtis, daughter of actors Janet Leigh (Psycho) and Tony Curtis, began her horror career in one of the most important genre films ever produced: John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978)! As central character Laurie Strode, she helped create the modern day scream queen. This was firmly established thanks to her follow-up roles in The Fog, Prom Night, Terror Train, and Road Games. In 1981 she returned to the role of Laurie Strode in Halloween II, after which she started appearing in more high-end projects and comedies including such classics as Trading Places, A Fish Called Wanda, Blue Steel, My Girl, and Forever Young. In 1994 Jamie Lee Curtis co-starred in James Cameron’s True Lies. Soon after Jamie returned to the Halloween franchise with H20, released in 1998 (and again, appearing in 2002’s Halloween: Resurrection). More noteworthy film releases followed, including Virus, Freaky Friday, Christmas with the Kranks, and Drowning Mona. More recently, Jamie has played a recurring character on the hit TV series “NCIS”.

This November HorrorHound Weekend event will include a packed vendor room and will boast a number of additional celebrity guests to be announced. Halloween and Jamie Lee Curtis fans alike will want to assure they mark this date on their calendars!!! Please note that autograph tickets for Jamie Lee Curtis will be sold on the HorrorHound Weekend website in advance of the event. This decision has been made to assure that people traveling for this appearance will know prior to booking their travel that they in fact are going to meet this screen legend. Ticket information will be available next month.

HorrorHound’s annual November event is usually held in Cincinnati, Ohio; however, due to the popularity of this event, we decided to move our event to our more-established (and larger) hotel in Indianapolis. HorrorHound Weekend will return to Cincinnati on its new date: March 22-24, 2013, at the Sharonville Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Are Truth Seekers Playing by Slaughterhouse Rulez

Published

on

One of our favorite pairings of stars from the last twenty years is no doubt that of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Their chemistry is undeniable, and if you didn’t get enough of it in “Spaced,” Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End, and Paul, you’re about to get a bellyful of it on both big and small screens.

Variety is reporting that Frost and Pegg will be starring in “Truth Seekers,” a half-hour comedy-horror TV show about a three-person paranormal investigation team.

According to the site, each installment of “Truth Seekers” will focus on a paranormal incident, a setup with clear monster-of-the-week potential. “Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something,” Pegg says. “It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London, and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.

That’s not all, though… the pair are also working on the feature film Slaughterhouse Rulez, a horror-comedy now in post-production. Directed by Crispian Mills and set in a well-to-do public school, the movie is “very satirical, very much about the U.K. selling itself off,” Pegg says. “It’s about fracking as well, and that unleashes some awful subterranean demon.

Both of these projects will be released under their Stolen Picture shingle. Stay tuned, kids! More as we get it!
