I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: The Wizard of Oz scared the hell out of me as a child. And then Return to Oz? That was a single hair shy of being a full-blown horror movie. That’s why we can’t wait to see Sam Raimi’s take on the land over the rainbow.

The flick follows small-time magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco), who pulls one flim-flam too many and finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz, where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard – and just maybe into a better man as well.

Co-starring Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff, look for Oz: The Great and Powerful in theatres on March 8, 2013. Dig on the newly released one-sheet below.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

That looks very beast. Though in the movie summary book at my theater (already did the pages for 2012 and working on 2013 atm) I put down “From the Director of Bruce Campbell vs The Army of Darkness & Spiderman”; seems more like a proper nerd selling point.

Interesting, I’ll certainly give it a look.

There are so many interesting projects Raimi could have attached himself to. I can’t get excited for this. Horror Raimi delivers, Mainstream Raimi does not.
