It’s a good day to be a fan of Clive Barker’s creature feature Nightbreed. For a while now a two-hour and forty-five-minute version of the film, known as Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut (review), has been making the screening rounds at conventions, etc.

Now it looks as if this coveted piece of film may just be headed home.

Up until now all the proceeds that the film made were going to charity, but today Barker revealed that Morgan Creek has given him permission “to show the cut around the world and to raise money to prepare the cut for a release on Blu-ray.” Two words, kids – holy and shit!

From Clive via his Twitter account: “This could not, would not, have happened without your voices. We have all been heard. The Morgan Creek team have my thanks and my respect. Very seldom does anyone in the movie business pay attention as they have, understanding perhaps that the message of the movie as I shot it is one that dramatizes a different ending to the age-old story of how a war between Humankind and something Other draws to a close.”

Stay tuned for more. The Impromptu Rapid Irish Jig of Joy and Mirth™ video is on standby!

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

Well at least Morgan Creek seems to be doing the right thing for the film, at last!

I am happy for this but if youve seen the video of the Nightbreed Screening Q&A, Clive Barker does not look very well :(

There are some rumors floating around and I pray to God they are not true.

        Same.

Clive is a brilliant artist, and a sweet man. Praying that we’ll have him around for a lot longer.
