We all know Dexter Morgan, the title character of Showtime’s popular series “Dexter”, but not everyone is aware of where he came from: the wonderfully twisted mind of author Jeff Lindsay, who recently finished his sixth book about the lovable serial killer, Double Dexter.
Lindsay sat down recently with Centurion Agency for a video chat about Dex’s origins, his future, and more, including whether or not the creator still feels as if he “owns” the character. For us, the most interesting part of the interview is when Lindsay is asked if he’ll kill off Dexter. Lindsay replies that he’s wanted to several times, but his wife and agent usually talk him out of it!
As for what’s coming next, Double Dexter is getting a new paperback release from Vintage on Tuesday, June 12th, and Lindsay assures us there will be a seventh book at least.
With music by “Dexter” composer Daniel Licht, the 6-1/2-minute long video is quite entertaining and well worth watching. Check it out below, and for more be sure to visit Jeff Lindsay on Facebook.
