Delamorte's Dungeon of Deadly DelightsHey there, Fiends! The sinister summer is upon us, and another excellent Dungeon show is in the can! Just wanted fans of the show to know a few things. The first involves the name of the show. When I began this venture, I placed my name on the show to get our names out there.

The truth is, though, everything we do belongs to ALL OF YOU. So, from this day forward, my name will be stripped from every title. We will be The Dungeon of Deadly Delights. It’s your Dungeon. We do this for the fans. Second, I am in talks to make The Dungeon a television show! More on that when it becomes available.

So last week on the radio show, we spoke to my friend and show sponsor F/X legend Robert Kurtzman. Bob spoke about some history on certain films like Night of the Creeps and Phantasm 2. We also held a contest in which the winner won a Halloween mask straight off of Bob’s new line. Congratulations to Tom Martino, a.k.a. Jebediah Morningside. Your knowledge of Wishmaster has garnered you some really sweet schwag!

Speaking of Wishmaster, we have a Wishmaster Retrospective scheduled for June 20th featuring Bob and the Djinn himself, Andrew Divoff! You don’t want to miss it!

Lastly, I just want to thank JimmyO and April Burril of Chainsaw Sally and Forbidden Pictures for joining our ranks. Forbidden is now another incredible sponsor of the fear we bring! More thanks go out to my wonderfully wicked “Terror Team” of Amy Lynes, Thomas Surprenant, and Mary Agnew of 45 Grave. I absolutely love all of you, and you bring so much to the killing floor every week! Let’s keep makin’ magic happen!

That’s it for now. Tune in next week when we speak to the great Bill Moseley! I’ll scare ya later!

The Dungeon of Deadly Delights is brought to you by Forbidden Pictures as well as Creature Corps and the official Steph Sciullo website, along with Doug Bradley’s Spine Chillers and clothing and apparel company Se7en Deadly.

Be sure to listen live every Sinister Saturday at 11:00 pm ET/8:00 pm PT on Jackalope 105.

Exclusive: Cadabra Brings Chilling Eeriness With M.R. James’ Casting the Runes

Published

on

For those who haven’t heard of them, Cadabra Records is a boutique record label that specializes in creating audio plays of fantastic horror stories. They did it with The Yellow Sign by Robert W. Chambers and have done stories from Bram Stoker and H.P. Lovecraft. Today, we’re thrilled to help them announce their new project, which is a full cast audio play of M.R. James’ Casting the Runes. Below is an audio sample, which give you a taste of the magnificent scope of the production.

Starring David Warner (The Omen, Star Trek, In The Mouth of Madness), produced by Bleak December, and adapted by Anthony D.P. Mann, the limited edition vinyl will be released on January 26th with the first edition of 500 copies to be pressed on 150-gram colored vinyl and housed in deluxe heavy weight gatefold tip-on jacket with newly commissioned art by Adam Burke.

Speaking about lending his voice to Casting the Runes, Warner states, “I was brought up only with radio, so it means so much to me to be able to imagine for myself what is being presented. And we can all imagine differently what is being presented to us via audio and radio, and that’s what the magic of it is – our own imaginations are able to take over. As an actor (and a voice actor, sometimes), I’m so glad to be able to contribute to peoples’ visual take on whatever it is we’re presenting. I just think it’s so invaluable, you know – the images and dreams in the mind.

You can follow Cadabra through their official website, Twitter, and Instagram. To order any of their records, head on to their online store.

Check Out Episode 1 of the New VR/360 App Narrative Series Find Me

Published

on

Let me get this out of the way right off the top. I’m not really into the whole VR/360 experience. I’ve tried it out and it’s cool and all, but I’m not sold just yet.

That said, if you are into such games/experiences, you might want to check out “Find Me”.

The mobile app is a 360/VR narrative series from BlackBoxTV, James McFadden, Eric Jacks & Collab, as well as #YouTubeSpaceLA and The Los Angeles Times.

Each episode features visual codes and puzzles for you to solve, unlocking additional content and information available only in the app. That is until IRL gameplay begins in Los Angeles on December 25th and the app becomes your key to unlock locations in the real world.

“Find Me” will have one winner with a one-of-a-kind prize for the person who “finds” and frees the main protagonist Julia Zamora (played by Madison Lawlor) via the app.

Again, I’m not into these VR/360 apps but if you are – or want to try one out – I highly suggest taking on “Find Me”.

You can watch “Find Me – Episode 1” below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think in the comments below or on social media!

Get the “Find Me” App for iOS HERE and Android HERE.
