Neil Marshall is Ready to Burst!

Neil Marshall is Ready to Burst!Neil Marshall is a guy whose involvement in a project automatically makes my pants all sticky. And while I’d like to apologize up front for that repugnant image, I would also like to fill you in on what the director of Dog Soldiers, The Descent and Doomsday is up to next – sadly it does not start with a D.

Bloody-Disgusting got word that Marshall will be working on Burst 3D for Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. Penned by Gary Dauberman, the flick follows a young woman running from her troubles and finds herself stranded at a lodge with a group of strangers. One after another, they inexplicably begin to burst into pieces. Shock quickly descends into paranoia as nobody knows who to trust. And as the mystery unravels, the survivors realize that what's causing this unstoppable phenomenon is bigger and more disturbing than anyone could have ever imagined.

Sam Raimi will produce along with his Ghost House partner, Rob Tapert. Nathan Kahane will serve as the executive producer while Tendo Nagenda and J.R. Young will oversee the project for the production company, which was developed in mutual with Lionsgate.

No word on casting yet, but we’ll fill you in as the information finds its way to our grubby little hands. Personally, I find this to be some of the best news of late. Marshall always brings his A game (screw you all, Doomsday RULES) and this sounds like it could really deliver the goods.

Oh, and Neil, if you’re reading this: what are my chances with Rhona Mitra?

Doomsday, Descent, Dog Soldiers all great ones and yeah I'm disappointed this movie doesn't start with a D. They need to change the title. Also wary of anything from Ghosthouse even if it IS Neil he only has so much to work with but if anyone can turn shit into gold he can.

No, DOOMSDAY was poop from a butt.

It's as if after the acclaim of THE DESCENT Marshall dusted off a shitty fan script he wrote when he was a kid and thought it was good enough to spend $40 million on.

Hopefully CENTURION will be awesome. And I would have loved to see him do the new CONAN, rather than that hack Marcus Nispel.

I agree that Doomsday is fantastic. I, too, get excited for a new Niel Marshall movie so this has me ecstatic. I know he's not going to pander to the 3D FX the way it was done in Final Destination.

Can't wait for Centurion.
