With this new batch of character posters for Season 5 of “True Blood” comes good news and bad. Since Denis O’Hare’s Russell is among them, we can happily assume we’ll be seeing his character again soon. On the minus side, Rutina Wesley’s Tara is also there so it looks like reports of her demise may have been premature.

“True Blood” takes place in the not-too-distant future, when vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. Alan Ball created and executive produces the show, based on the best-selling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.
