Now that a director has been found to carry The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire, into theatres in 2013, Lionsgate has been look to find a writer, and they’re zeroing in on one in particular.
According to THR Michael Arndt, who won an Oscar for his screenplay for Little Miss Sunshine and penned Toy Story 3, is in talks to work on the high-profile sequel.
Francis Lawrence will direct the film which will see the return of actors Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, and Woody Harrelson.
Look for it in theatres on November 22, 2013.
The sequel to the 2008 bestseller by Suzanne Collins continues the story of Katniss Everdeen and the fictional, futuristic nation of Panem. Due to the events of the previous novel, a rebellion against the ruling Capitol has begun, and Katniss and fellow tribute Peeta are forced to return to the arena in a special edition of The Hunger Games.
