Daft Punk Will Score Dario Argento’s New Giallo BLACK GLASSES

Deep Red and Suspiria director Dario Argento is headed back to the screen with an all-new Giallo called Black Glasses in 2020. And better yet? The movie will reunite him with his daughter The Stendhal Syndrome and The Phantom of the Opera actress Asia Argento.

And today we hear that Daft Punk will be scoring the film.

Argento says: “They are my admirers, they know all my cinema. They heard from French friends that I was shooting a new film and called me [to say], ‘We want to work with you.'”

Nice! But what’s, you know, the film about?

Argento says: “It will be my return to crime films. It’s the adventure, in Rome, of a Chinese girl and child. In the second part, the escape takes them into the rocky, bushy countryside of Lazio. [It’s] different from the sweetness of the Tuscan valleys, but for me beautiful.”

Sounds appropriately Giallo to me. Bring it on!

Argento had planned to shoot the flick in May but as you might imagine, production has been halted for the time being. That said, he hopes to get the film before cameras in September.
