It’s not easy coming up with a name for your horror movie, believe me. My buddy and I worked on a script months ago that still has no title; nothing seems right, you know? So it’s forgivable that a new horror flick from the UK that’s been getting some very positive reactions is saddled with the odd title Dead Wood.
If Kryten were writing this, there’d be some sort of sexual pun right about here….
We were contacted by the people behind Dead Wood recently with the heads up that their brand new, very professionally-done official site is up, which you can check out right here. There you’ll find a lot of info abut the production and those behind it, but what’s Dead Wood actually about?
Four friends head to the woods for a weekend of relaxation (ain’t that always the way?). Things are going just as planned until a girl wanders into their camp looking for her boyfriend. Somehow this leads them to being lost in the endless wilderness and stalked by a very malevolent force beyond their understanding.
Dead Wood has screenings at the upcoming Shockerfest and the Thriller Chiller Festival and they’ve been nominated for awards at the B Movie Festival. No disrespect, but is it bad that I’ve never heard of any of them, or just indicative of how many film festivals/conventions there are out there now?
