Will an E.R. Battle an E.T. on TNT?
Looks like ABC's revamped "V" may not be the only new alien invasion series of the new fall season. Steven Spielberg is producing one for TNT, and he may be eyeballing a former "E.R." doc as the leader of mankind's resistance.
Michael Ausiello of EW.com is reporting that Steven Spielberg is producing a still unnamed series pilot for TNT set six months after evil extraterrestrials decimate mankind and is looking to cast Noah Wyle as the John Connor-esque leader of a ragtag band of human resistance fighters against the alien invaders.
It wouldn't be surprising given Wyle is no stranger to appearing in productions for Turner Network Television. He starred as Apple Computer's founder Steve Jobs in the telefilm Pirates of Silicon Valley and has since appeared in a series of made-for-TNT fantasy adventures, The Librarian.
Also, one has to keep in mind that Wyle was an original cast member of "E.R.", a series executive produced by Spielberg.
A TNT spokesperson declined to comment.
Let's just file that as a definite "maybe".
