With Christian Ackerman’s short film Hell’s Belles having a Dread Central co-sponsored “invitation only” red carpet premiere this Saturday, March 24th, in Hollywood, California, we thought it time to offer you an exclusive look at the film’s trailer. Read on!
Co-produced with Drina Durazo and written, directed and edited by Ackerman, Hell’s Belles revolves around (according to the official synopsis) “best friends and inexperienced Occult Specialists Adria Blackmoor and Helena Garcia, who on their way to a bar get sidetracked by the local sheriff to save a young girl from being kidnapped by a sadomasochistic demon. The girls must figure out a way to stop him from taking her to Hell as his personal sex slave and get to the bar before last call!” Ariel Teal Toombs and Mayra Rodriguez star along with Bonjah, Trista Robinson, Paul Gebeau, James Cavlo and Buffy Dakan. Dan Crawley (Watchmen) provided the creature effects and makeup.
Using Hell’s Belles as a leaping off point for a feature length version of the same name, “We’ll begin shopping the feature script in April,” Ackerman told us, “and will be sending the short film off to fests and using it to sell the feature script.”
As for this Saturday’s premiere, “I’m excited about having a big audience react to the work we’ve done,” said the filmmaker. “It’ll be thrilling to stand in the back and watch the crowd!”
Stay tuned for coverage of the premiere of Hell’s Belles coming next week to Dread Central.
