Breck Eisner Out of Creature Remake
Despite his assurances to the contrary during Nomad's Crazies set visit early last month, it now appears that Breck Eisner is indeed no longer involved with The Creature from the Black Lagoon remake for Universal Pictures and Strike Entertainment.
Bloody-Disgusting confirmed today that Eisner is out and Uni and Strike are now actively hunting a new director. As of right now the re-imagining is being penned and produced by Gary Ross, whose father wrote the original.
Well, this remake sure has had its fair share of ups and downs. However it all shakes out, let's hope Ross' promise pans out that "It’s not going to be campy [and] it’s not a reference to what the original was. It’s not reverential that way. We take it seriously."
