Andy Koontz’s first feature film, Ekimmu: The Dead Lust, is set to be released on June 23, 2012. Koontz wrote the film in 2003 and filming began in 2004. So why eight years between the start of the shoot and the release?
Koontz, who was also directing and producing the film, was stricken with brain cancer before production was completed.
However, on an awesomely positive note, Koontz kicked the cancer and is here today as a cancer survivor and a feature filmmaker. How great is that?! For more on this inspirational work, check out the official Ekimmu: The Dead Lust on Facebook. Way to kick ass, Andy! We’re proud of you, baby!
